The Sovereign Majestic Theater
The Sovereign Majestic Theater, located at 209 North Centre Street, is one of two reverse screen theaters remaining in the state of Pennsylvania and the sole theater remaining in downtown Pottsville. Built in 1910 the Majestic Theater is an eclectic style, two and a half story building with a Beaux Arts-classical façade. Opening on Saturday, July 9, 1910, the Sovereign Majestic Theater was the destination for fans of westerns and serials for twenty years, closing its doors in 1930. The building remained empty for nine years before being reopened as a Farmers Market in 1939 by the Baker Family of Bloomsburg.

The Pipes Are Calling By Loretta Murphy
The Pipes Are Calling is a novel of Schuylkill County and Ireland written by Girardville native, Loretta A. Murphy. It is a contemporary romance with a historical twist that involves the Mollie Maguires, a 19th century group of impoverished Irish immigrants struggling for labor rights against the rough backdrop of the Pennsylvania hard coal industry.

Woven between the present and the past in a story that spans more than a hundred years and the wide Atlantic Ocean, it tells the true tale of the Wiggans Patch Massacre that occurred in 1875 near Mahanoy City.

Stage Whispers
This website is a non-profit, community project. It is completely owned and created by Mikey Rays's efforts, and is under no obligation to any theater group, foundation or advertisers. I pay my own fees to create, host and maintain this website. If you feel you would like to donate any funds to further this project, all such gifts will be gratefully appreciated.

Please help and send your support. Until recently, I received not one dollar towards the upkeep of this site, and I would very much appreciate your help.
